Revitalization: Lower West Side
In this recent post about economic disparity it was shared that the Lower West Side has the lowest income in the entire area. While this is true, a plan for the revitalization of the Lower West Side seriously began about a decade ago with some progress. Many Communities, One Neighborhood is a comprehensive revitalization plan that has helped the Lower West Side despite its economic disparity.
Created by the groups Hispanics United of Buffalo, Homefront Inc., and the Lovejoy District Neighborhood Revitalization Services, Inc. a comprehensive plan was written back in 2002. The information put forth by the study is dense and could still be used today to continue further redevelopment to the Lower West Side.
