Architecture: Medina Sandstone

Western New York’s own Medina supplied the world famous Medina sandstone to New York’s second largest armory located in Buffalo’s West Side. The superior building material was used for the Buckingham Palace, Brooklyn Bridge, and the New York State Capitol. Medina sandstone was a central industry for the Orleans village for over a century.
