People & Places: What’s Your Neighborhood?

Each neighborhood in Buffalo comes with it’s own distinct features. Yet, who determines the neighborhoods? Although there are always some commonalities, neighborhoods can be interpreted in several different ways, such as the two examples above. The typographical map seems to have gotten its locations from the city’s website which claims 72 neighborhoods while the University of Buffalo has 40 less with only 32 neighborhoods.
